Why do you need a synchronizer when controlling one window using two actuators?
Why do you need two actuators to control one window?
- Large size window.
- Heavy duty window.
- Cannot install an actuator in the middle of the window, actuators must be installed on both sides of the window.
- The window has to be open outward overall.
What will happen if don’t use a synchronizer?
Basically one common controller can control two actuators to open/close the window simultaneously. But in case one of the actuators is broken, and the other one is keep working, the window will be broken definitely. Nobody would like that happen.
How does a synchronizer work?
The synchronizer has an MCU with a program. It can identify the working status of two actuators by detecting the motors’ working current in real time.
If it is detected that one of the actuators doesn’t have current, there are three possibilities:
- The actuator runs out of the full stroke.
- The power cable is not connected well.
- The motor is broken.
When one of the actuators stops working, the other one stops automatically. It can be set to choose delayed shutdown. When one actuator finishes the stroke, another won’t stop immediately. It can keep working for seconds till the stroke is completely done.
Therefore a synchronizer can protect your windows not to be damaged and ensure the window will be open/closed fully.
How do you choose the right synchronizer?
- The maximum current of the actuator must be less than the maximum current of the synchronizer.
- Delay time is settable. If one actuator is faster than another by 2 seconds, then you can set delay time at 3 seconds.
- If you use two actuators to control one window you have to use a two way synchronizer. Cannot use 3 way or 4 way synchronizer. If you use three actuators to control one window then you must need a 3 way synchronizer.
Model | Way | Max Current | Delay Time | Synchronized Actuators |
LK-S102 | 2 | 2A | 0-7 Seconds | LK-SCE, LK-LCD, LK-L36A, LK-L36B |
LK-S112 | 2 | 3A | 0-7 Seconds | LK-L38A |
LK-S122 | 2 | 6A | 0-7 Seconds | More powerful actuator |
LK-S113 | 3 | 3A*3 | 0-7 Seconds | LK-SCE, LK-LCD, LK-L36A, LK-L36B, LK-L38A |
LK-S114 | 4 | 3A*4 | 0-7 Seconds | LK-SCE, LK-LCD, LK-L36A, LK-L36B, LK-L38A |
LK-S102 is a two way synchronizer. The maximum current is 2A for each way. Can synchronizer two single chain actuators LK-LCD or LK-SCE, two linear actuator LK-L36A or LK-L36B. Delay time is 0-7 seconds.
LK-S112 is a two way synchronizer. The maximum current is 3A for each way. Can synchronizer two linear actuators LK-L38A. Delay time is 0-7 seconds.
LK-S122 is a two way synchronizer. The maximum current is 6A for each way. Can synchronizer two more powerful actuators. Delay time is 0-7 seconds.
LK-S113 is a three way synchronizer. The maximum current is 3A for each way. Can synchronizer three single chain actuators or linear actuators. Delay time is 0-7 seconds.
LK-S114 is a four way synchronizer. The maximum current is 3A for each way. Can synchronizer four single chain actuators or linear actuators. Delay time is 0-7 seconds.
